The Village School

Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future. Let us treat them with all the kindness which we would wish to help to develop in them. Our mission, in partnership with teachers, parents and students, is to nurture a lifelong love of learning.

Whoever touches the life of a child, touches the most sensitive part of a whole which has roots in the most distant past and climbs toward the infinite future. What started as one Primary classroom of 19 students has grown to multiple Toddler through Middle School programs, with a current enrollment of 250 children.

The teacher has two tasks: to lead the children to concentration and to help them in their development afterwards. Our staff is made up of individuals from a variety of different backgrounds who all have a passion for educating children in the Montessori Method. Each classroom is staffed with at least two teachers who are all Montessori trained or working on their training.

The Village School, founded in 1977, is an academically challenging Montessori school in Waldwick, NJ with program levels from Toddlers (18 months old) to Middle School. We are one of two Pre-K-8 schools in NJ that hold triple accreditation from The American Montessori Society (AMS), The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and The New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS).

The Village School is an AMS accredited school located in Waldwick, NJ serving students ages 18 months through 8th Grade. At The Village School, you will find a work environment that is comfortable, friendly, respectful and supportive. Teaching in an AMS accredited Montessori school means that you will have a part in educating children to become independent, confident and kind life-long learners.
