Ashtanga yoga is a daily method of yoga that involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures. This process generates internal heat which detoxifies and purifies the muscles and organs. The results are improved circulation, a stronger and more flexible body and a calm mind.

A slow, gentle practice based on Vinyasa Krama and the teachings of Krishnamacharya, emphasizing proper alignment, breathing, and movement, that conduct prana - essential life energy - throughout your body, creates inner space, stretches, and builds strength. This class is a 75 minute stronger flow sequence mixed with various exercises focusing on abs, arms/upper body and legs.

I have been practicing yoga on and off the mat for more than three decades. I practice yoga because I am a much better wife, mother, teacher & friend when I get the physical, mental, and emotional release that yoga offers. Breathing deeply helps me remain calm and centered reducing my reactionary impulses and practicing ahimsa (non-harming) helps me be a more compassionate human.

I started my full time yoga teaching experience at Santa Monica Power Yoga, but I've worked and taught all over. My background in somatics and tantra, as well as my clinical background and education in mental health and wellness has been part of the journey as well. I am endlessly grateful for movement, breath, empowerment, embodiment and of course the gift of community and collective transformation.
