Childhood Apraxia Of Speech
Report
For speech production, your child's brain has to learn how to make plans that tell his/ her speech muscles how to move the lips, jaw and tongue in ways that result in accurate sounds, syllables, words, phrases, and sentences. Your child's brain also plans these movements so that he/she speaks with a normal rate and rhythm.
Early Intervention
Report
The first three years of life are the most intensive period for developing and using speech and language skills; this is the critical period when the brain is most able to absorb language. While children vary in their development of speech and language skills, they tend to chart a normal progression for acquisition and mastery of their speech and language skills.
