Anat Sohn, M.S., CCC-SLP, owner of Metro Speech Therapy, is a Maryland State-Licensed speech language Pathologist and is nationally certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Anat has more than 20 years of experience in outpatient, in-patient, home health, and, academic settings in NYC, Florida, and Maryland.

At Metro Speech Therapy, each child will undergo an initial assessment. During this session, which typically lasts an hour, we will get to know you and your child, to understand your child's strengths and weaknesses, and hear your concerns regarding your child's communication, speech, and/or swallowing skills.

ADHD - ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. ADHD is a disorder defined by inattention, disorganization, and/or hyperactivity that affects functioning and development. Children with ADHD may have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors (may act without thinking about what the result will be), or be overly active.

For patients who have had a neurological event like a brain injury or stroke, or who have a neuromuscular disorder like Parkinson's, speech, language and swallowing therapy are often key components to treatment. The focus of therapy may be to restore cognitive function as well as improve speech and swallow problems.
