IvyCrest Montessori Private School, originally named Montessori Child Development Center, was founded in 1970 by Mrs. Doris Ivy Smith and is still a family-owned and operated learning center that has grown to three campuses. The school's original campus was the home of one of Fullerton's first mayors and is now included on the National Register of Historic Buildings.
The building is surrounded by over two acres of beautifully landscaped property. Many school activities still take place within the original structure, which retains much of its architectural integrity. Assisted by her husband, Kenneth Smith, and her good friend and educator, Frances Obler, Mrs. Smith opened the school with only three children, and was licensed to accept 89 students.

Knowing your child is safe and secure while at school is essential for parents to obtain peace of mind. There is nothing we take more seriously than the care of your child. Our ultra-modern security system starts at our front door. Each entrance to our school is locked during school hours, and entrance is only granted when our secretary buzzes you in.

IvyCrest Montessori Private School is seeking loving and experienced Montessori Teachers (3-6, 6-9, 9-12) for our Fullerton campus. Teachers must hold a Montessori Diploma to be considered for Head or Co Teaching positions. Positions are for our 2021-2022 school year, however you could start immediately.

The IvyCrest Montessori curriculum is based upon the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori, and is developmentally appropriate for children from birth through sixth grade. The focus is on the whole child - physical, emotional, social, cognitive, creative and artistic development, are stressed equally. At all levels, our teachers spark a child's curiosity, encourage critical thinking and instill within children a joy for life-long learning.

During this phase at IvyCrest, the children are presented with the "big picture." The curriculum works like a web, where each subject area is connected and integrated, which motivates the children to embrace the material as they continue to experience the joy of learning.
