Questions
What makes Pilates different from other fitness methods?
Pilates focuses on activating deep stabilizing muscles through controlled movements that improve biomechanics without joint impact. Unlike high-impact workouts, it builds strength from the bone outward while enhancing body awareness and proper muscle recruitment patterns.
Do you offer beginner-friendly Pilates options?
We provide private sessions specifically for beginners to learn proper form and foundational principles. These one-on-one sessions prepare clients for group classes by addressing individual limitations and establishing safe movement patterns tailored to their physical condition.
How does Pilates help with chronic back pain?
Our method strengthens core and posterior chain muscles that support spinal stability while correcting muscle imbalances contributing to pain. By improving neuromuscular control and restoring proper movement patterns, Pilates addresses the root causes of postural strain and disc compression.
What should I wear to a Pilates session?
Wear form-fitting exercise clothing that allows instructors to observe movement patterns. Avoid loose garments that might restrict motion or hide alignment issues. Most clients train barefoot to enhance foot stability and sensory feedback during exercises.
Can Pilates help with injury rehabilitation?
Yes, our rehabilitation programs address post-injury recovery by rebuilding strength safely through controlled movements. We work with clients' healthcare providers to implement modified exercises that support tissue healing while maintaining neuromuscular engagement during recovery periods.
What equipment do you use in Pilates classes?
We utilize reformers with spring resistance systems, tower units, and specialized apparatus that challenge stability while guiding proper alignment. These tools provide adjustable support and resistance to enhance muscle activation while maintaining safe, controlled movement ranges during training sessions.

Mardee is one of the most knowledgeable, intelligent, and alignment focused fitness instructors Ive ever known. Ive live in NYC, Houston, Austin and San Francisco, and worked in fitness myself. I am so grateful to have a lovely boutique pilates fitness studio right here in the heart of Wimberley, my current home base. The studio feels like a nested tree house sitting above cypress creek. Mardee always gives her clients the utmost attention not only physically, but in a holistic sense given her knowledge of nutrition and awareness of energy. I love her classes and highly recommend it to locals
