A: Landlords are no longer allowed to turn down prospective renters simply because they receive rent subsidies from the federal Section 8 program. Of course prospective tenants do have to meet rental criteria. The following documentation will be required within 24 hours of submitting an application:a) government issued photo ID (front and back), b) proof of income - 3 months bank statements, c) proof of income - past 3 months pay stubs, d) photo of pet (for pet friendly homes). Any individual whose tenancy may constitute a direct threat to the health and safety of any individual, the complex, or the property of the others, will be denied tenancy.
