Since 1952, PCNS has been providing young children and their families an opportunity to share their first school experience and build special friendships. Pittsford Nursery School (PCNS) is a cooperative preschool and transitional kindergarten located in the village of Pittsford, New York. Our curriculum is play-based and, together with our families, we encourage our students to develop at their own rate.

PCNS is a secular, non-denominational school that is open to all! We are proud of our school and would love to show you around. Please give our director, Teresa Zatyko, a call at (585) 381-1390 to arrange a tour! PCNS is located in the Village of Pittsford at 25 Church Street (lower level of the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford).

Our Mission
Report
Our wonderful teachers and staff are highly experienced professionals who are devoted to their students! All of our teachers are CPR trained and certified. We pride ourselves on maintaining a low teacher to student ratio in our classrooms. Each class has a main teacher and a teacher's aide. Additionally, our staff works together with each other and our families to ensure optimal program success.
Our History
Report
Pittsford Nursery School (PCNS) was first organized in 1952 when a group of mothers with young children met regularly and eventually developed a cooperative preschool. Headed by Betty Wright, the school hired their first teacher, Rosemary Harley, in 1953. For over sixty years, PCNS has embraced the idea of a cooperative educational experience.
Our Program
Report
Our teachers from all levels (ages 2 through Young K) work together on developing a curriculum that naturally flows and adjusts to the changes and needs of our population. Our curriculum is committed to nurturing each child's social, emotional, intellectual and physical development through discovery and play.
Faq
Report
We believe a cooperative preschool is one that involves both school and families as active participants in their children's learning. Our teachers and families come together to inspire development in a warm environment. This means parents are involved as assistants in the classroom and as volunteers for other school activities.
Testimonials
Report
Our family has truly enjoyed our involvement with PCNS. The cooperative experience has allowed us to assume an active role in the early education of all of our children, while introducing us to families who share similar values and child rearing styles. The teachers genuinely care about the well-being of each student.
