
In 2003, on the advice of my physical therapist, I began practicing Pilates in a mat class setting. I started noticing a dramatic reduction of pain in my back, so I moved up to taking weekly private lessons from the instructor. I became stronger and I no longer needed to take medicine to keep my back pain at bay.
While performing Pilates, one must be focused on breath, fluidity of movement and correct alignment of the body. To focus on all of these things at one time, the mind must be fully focused. The experience becomes a kind of mindful meditation. I loved the fact that I was gaining strength, correcting my posture and meditating at the same time.

It is strongly recommended that beginning clients take 10 private lessons. After these beginning sessions, we can evaluate your current level of expertise and decide where to progress from there. The first time I meet with you regardless of your level of experience, I will perform an assessment created by Polestar Pilates.
