When the four founders of High Meadows came together nearly 50 years ago, they envisioned a school and camp program that inspired children to learn and grow through joyful experience, meaningful relationships, connection to nature, and deep thinking. While our programs have grown and evolved over time, these core values are still at the heart of the student experience at High Meadows.
Our History

You could say that High Meadows School began on an afternoon hike with friends, which is extraordinarily appropriate for the legacy High Meadows still holds today. While exploring the land that is now our campus, forward-thinking educators Jody Holden, Bill Crawford, Jay Dickerson, and Michael Drake conceived the idea of a progressive school and summer day camp designed to emphasize exploration, discovery, and multi-age learning.
