Dunwoody Christian School

We are a covenant Christian school. This means we require at least one parent living with a prospective student to be a professing Christian, and to agree with our Statement of Faith. We currently offer classes for Kindergarten through 5th grade. We will continue adding at least one grade per year until DCS is a full service K-12 school.

Maxann Wanamaker has served in the field of education for over 20 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Elementary Education. Ms. Wanamaker is a Certified member of the Academy of Orton Gillingham and has earned the designation of Master Teacher from the Georgia Independent School Association.

Our allegiance is to Jesus Christ, and we adhere to the truth of God's Word, the Bible. Ours is a covenant Christian school, meaning every member of our community has either professed personal faith in Christ, or in the case of our youngest students, are members of a Christ-honoring home.

We are dedicated to teaching sound doctrine, developing Christian character, and readying our students to build the kingdom of God, both in ministry and in the marketplace.We will maintain a culture that loves and serves God, one another, and the world. We create environments in which students excel in knowledge, refine their aptitudes into talents, and flourish as they become established in their faith.

Another reason we chose the lion is because in nature, lions are "the king of the jungle." They have no predators. They are supreme. We believe that by adopting the lion as our mascot, we will continually be reminded of the Lion, the One we serve and the reason why Dunwoody Christian School exists.

Dunwoody Christian School is a member in good standing with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). As we build our school, we will pursue initial accreditation from organizations such as ACSI, the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
