Building on this legacy, the HIES Board of Trustees approved a plan in 2019 to begin a new chapter of programmatic growth and enrichment funded by the most ambitious capital campaign the school has ever undertaken.

Holy Innocents' Episcopal School is one of the nation's largest Episcopal schools, enrolling 1,380 students in Grades PK3-12. Borrowing a phrase from our school hymn, we say that we "inspire each mind and fire each heart, " because at HIES we have created a unique, vibrant learning community filled with encouragement and every imaginable opportunity for our students to explore their talents, pursue their passions and achieve their full potential.

It is driven by the simple, yet powerful concept, of caring for and educating children and guided by a philosophy which directs the purpose in a straightforward manner: Holy Innocents' Episcopal School develops in students a love of learning, respect for self and others, faith in God, and a sense of service to the world community.

Path to HIES OEM: After graduating from Princeton, Cambridge and New York Universities, was a college professor at NYU and Spelman College teaching expository writing and African Diaspora and the World studies. Studied and lived around the world from Edinburgh, Scotland to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Andrew Mack, Associate Director of Admissions, MS & US and Director of Financial Assistance.
