Located in Fairfield County, Connecticut, our Westport preschool has been part of the fabric of this community for more than 50 years. We are centrally located in a picturesque New England setting in downtown Westport and attract families from within the town and the surrounding areas. Saugatuck Nursery School is best described as a hybrid.

We are a traditional nursery school with the option of before and after school care for our 3 and 4 year old's. Flexible scheduling allows for sign up, on an as needed basis, for early drop off and lunch bunch. Our students thrive in the warm and nurturing environment that our seasoned and professional teachers provide.

Teaching Philosophy
Report
At SNS we believe in using the Project Approach when planning lessons and implementing them. This approach is child-centered and teacher-framed. Ideas for study are found in the child's home, school and community. The project is an in-depth study of a topic worthy of investigation that is found in the students' immediate environment.

My son started in the 2s program and now he is in the 4s program. He loves it there and never wants to come home! The teachers are all so wonderful and go above and beyond. I'm so glad I chose Saugatuck Nursery School -- I will miss them all so much next year when my son starts kindergarten!

My daughter has done beautifully - her teachers work with the whole class on cognitive development, physical activity and play outside, and provide opportunities for reading, art and music. As an educator who has worked with students of various ages and academic backgrounds, I am thrilled that she has such a wonderful learning environment at a beautiful school!
