At Northport Nursery School, our goal is simple: to encourage the social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth of each student in a safe and loving environment. Children are inherently excited about the world around them. Our preschool program is designed to nurture this sense of wonder and spark a lifelong love of learning, using the outdoors as much as possible.

Northport Nursery School has been serving the community as a cooperative preschool since 1941, offering classes for children ages 2 through 5. A non-profit, non-sectarian organization, our school is registered with and follows guidelines established by the New York State Education Department. Families are an integral part of our cooperative program.

At Northport Nursery School we encourage the social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth of each child in a nurturing, safe and fun environment. We want our students to learn and grow as individuals and as members of a group, so we use programs flexible enough to focus on the specific needs and strengths of each student and structured enough to include all curricular areas.
Outdoor Classroom

Offering a balance of physical activities and quiet exploration, the outdoor classroom provides opportunities for children to be involved in a wide range of new and different hands-on experiences that foster both group and independent learning. In the summer of 2017, Northport Nursery School began construction on what has quickly become a focal point of the school.
