Our mission is to provide a nurturing, creative environment where children are fully invested in their learning and understand that their thoughts and ideas are valued and respected. We are committed to educating the whole child - their entire emotional, social, physical, and intellectual being - while reinforcing each child's integrity as a learner, a leader, and a classmate.
At CCNS, we believe children gain confidence and become lifelong learners when their curiosities are piqued and their individual interests are nurtured. Children grow and develop as they explore exciting, well-planned, and open-ended learning opportunities for imaginative play, art exploration, scientific discovery, social interaction, problem solving, writing, music, movement, literacy, cooking, math, and outdoor fun.

Why a Co-Op/History
Report
Parents play an integral part in the CCNS experience, and the parent/school partnership is one reason CCNS has been successful for over 60 years.
Whether working with the teachers in their child's classroom once a month, sharing their talents to enhance or extend a project or area of study, or helping shape the school's future with a position on the Board of Directors or on a committee like marketing, fundraising or enrichment, CCNS parents have a unique opportunity to actively engage in their child's preschool experience and foster a deep bond with their child as they learn and discover together.

As a teacher I view myself as a protector of children's play. My job is to create a safe inviting space with engaging play materials, then step back and let the children take the lead while I look for ways to enhance and extend their play. One of the great pleasures of teaching is that it is never stagnant, there is always room for growth and each year brings a fresh start.
NAEYC Accreditation
Report
NAEYC Accreditation is a rigorous and transformative quality-improvement system that uses a set of 10 research-based standards to collaborate with early education programs to recognize and drive quality-improvement in high-quality early learning environments.
To earn NAEYC Accreditation, CCNS went through an extensive self-study and quality-improvement process, followed by an on-site visit by NAEYC Assessors to verify and ensure that the program met each of the ten program standards, and hundreds of corresponding individual criteria.NAEYC accredited programs are always prepared for unannounced quality-assurance visits during the accreditation term, which lasts for five years.

Our Programs
Report
We provide young children with an environment in which they learn from each other with developmentally appropriate materials, equipment and activities in a social setting. At CCNS our teachers strive to stimulate each child's curiosity, to develop positive social skills and to encourage creative and emotional expression.
Twos
Report
Our class for two-year-olds is designed around creating a supportive, nurturing, welcoming environment for what is often the children's first school experience. We focus on building trusting relationships with their teachers, learning to engage with peers in a social setting, piquing their natural curiosity, and gaining independence as they broaden their world and explore new materials and environments.
