Your Trusted Public Health Partner in California, MO
Since 1975, Moniteau County Health Center has been dedicated to safeguarding community wellness through prevention, promotion, and protection of public health. Originally established as the Moniteau County Nursing Service with a $25,000 state grant, we became a tax-supported entity in 1986 after recognizing the critical need for public health services in our region. Our team works alongside community partners to ensure compliance with state and local health mandates while providing essential services like immunizations, environmental health monitoring, and maternal-child health programs. Over the decades, we've expanded our facilities and services, including adding 2,000 square feet to our California, MO headquarters in 2007 to better serve residents. We maintain rigorous standards in food safety inspections, water testing, and disease prevention programs while offering vital resources like WIC and emergency preparedness initiatives. Our board of trustees, including Carlene Petree as President, guides strategic growth while maintaining our founding mission to create a healthier Moniteau County. Through continuous adaptation to public health challenges like the 2005 expansion planning and modernization efforts, we remain committed to delivering accessible, comprehensive health services to all county residents.
