A former teacher and tutor, Cathy Scarlatos has more than 15 years of experience in education. For the past eight years, she has specialized in providing tutoring and test preparation services for students and adults. In 2006, Cathy opened A Plus Tutoring Services in Melrose, Mass., a locally operated learning and tutoring center that employs educational professionals and provides a wide range of academic services.
After teaching and tutoring in the Melrose public school system for four years, Cathy served as Supplemental Services Director at the Advanced Schools and Learning Center in North Andover, running an after-school program that provided tutoring and test preparation. She then became Area Director at ClubZ, the country's largest in-home tutoring service, before starting her own program in 2006.

A Plus Tutoring has excellent programs for English Language Learners are fluent in many foreign languages, enabling them to help students learn English quickly and effectively. A Plus Tutoring offers an after school program that provides students with individual project-based learning plans. In addition to helping students with their homework, we also address specific needs, such as reading (using the Wilson Reading System) and MCAS preparation.
