Community, rigor, intentionality. The Universal lineage brings it's own feel to this studio, which I find pushes me mentally and physically. I have been a member for six year, and have moved several times during that period. It is a testament to the value I hold in this studio that I continue to commute out of my way to attend their classes. Their Deep Stretch class is unique among any yoga classes I have taken throughout Portland.

After browsing for yoga studios for three months, I chose Yoga for Life as my home. :) I attended a few classes of Hot Hatha, Hot Power Vinyasa, and Deep Stretch. What really won me over was the Deep Stretch class as it offered new asanas that targeted muscles that we do not often stretch. It was a 90-minute class and I felt light, relaxed, lucid and HOOKED! In general, all the teachers are mindful, provide prepared lesson plans, offer pranayama and a short meditation. Overall the facilities are very nice and they provide everything you may need from storage, bathrooms, and showers.

While many businesses are offering extra leeway of returns/refunds during these tough times of COVID, Yoga For Life is unlike all other businesses. I purchased a package deal that they were promoting in February 2020. Then due to COVID, everything was shut down first week of March. Never got a chance to use what I paid for. I asked for a refund and was DENIED!! I reached out to the manager Casey, again. And didn't get any further reply except that they are NOT offering refunds. No wonder you guys don't have much positive reviews these last 3-4 months. Way to go to keep your business afloat

Some years ago I was looking for affordable yoga classes and came across a 10 for $10 deal from Yoga for Life. For a buck a class, I had nothing to loose, so I tried. I was hooked from the first class, first dharma talk, first meditation class and kept coming back for more.
This lovely studio has so much to offer! Whether you are looking for a good workout or want to venture into other limbs of yoga and dive deeper into pranayama, meditation, and yoga philosophy; there is so much offered here. The owners, Raj and Kelly, share their wisdom freely and tirelessly, offering new and interesting platforms

This is what real Yoga is.
When I first stepped into a class at Yoga For Life (previously named Hot Yoga for Life) in June 2014, I had no idea the ways in which this studio would impact me and ultimately change my life for the better. What started out as a physical fitness exercise soon became something much deeper, and I began to understand that this "Yoga stuff" offered something much more than just moving your body in funny shapes and sweating a lot.
What Yoga for Life brings to the table is the authenticity and tradition of Yoga. It is a space to practice Yoga as a system of unifying mind

The absolute best yoga studio in Portland. All of their teachers are highly educated and are dedicated practitioners themselves. I feel like I learn something new from each class/teacher. The studio has a special energy about it....it's the real deal. I truly wish there were more studios like YFL. Go! This place is next level!

I initially came to this yoga studio to take Mr. Chris's inversion class, which I found it motivating and he'll take you to the next level. I also discovered so many wonderful yoga teachers with their own specialty yoga practice to offer.. Universal yoga seems intriguing and interests me. I've been also enjoying deep stretch classes. I'm grateful to find such a great yoga studio. Give it a try & you won't be disappointed ~ ^^"

I've been coming to this studio since 2013 for the infrared heat and to progress in my yoga practice.I started with the great intro unlimited deal, and I've found so much more than that. I eventually committed to training under the owner, Raj Patra, and began advancing in my knowledge and depth of experience in yoga. The teachers have diverse styles and all are dedicated to helping their students achieve their yoga goals, and I keep coming back to improve physical and mental health. YFL offers more than a great work out, it is a community and truly a way of life for many students here.

So I finally made it to this lovely studio... and I am so glad I did. I've only attended a handful of classes (Hot Hatha, Hot Power and a deep stretch class) and all were pretty yummy. From what I can tell there's a large Andrey Lappa (Universal Yoga) influence in the studio and I am not mad at that (although my ego can get it twisted sometimes).... Lappa brings a whole different kind of juice to the yoga world and there's room for it all.... but I digress....

When you walk in there's a nice space upfront to sign in and very nice clean properly appointed dressing rooms and

Offering one of the best teaching programs around, Yoga for Life is a place for people who take their practices seriously and want to advance. You’ll find poses here that other studios won’t offer, and no two teachers bring the same strengths to the mat. The classes are for all levels, which allow newer practitioners to modify at their own pace, while the others can build up the poses as far as they can handle. If you’re sick of every class you take offering the same variations on sun salutations, come to Yoga for Life.

This studio is something special. My journey started with the introductory deal and now, two years later, Yoga for Life has empowered me to create space in my life for a continuous yoga practice, both on and off the mat. The owners of the studio are intelligent, self-less and highly involved with the operation of the studio. The instructors are well trained in intelligent sequencing, yoga philosophy, and in creating an inclusive environment appropriate for all levels of practitioners. Take advantage of the introductory deals and then make a yoga practice a constant in your life.

I had basic knowledge of yoga prior to coming to Yoga for Life and I can honestly say that I’m passionate about yoga now as a result of this studio. All of the teachers have their own unique style and their sequences are constantly changing. I love being challenged not just physically but emotionally, too, while learning that yoga isn’t just about the physical. You won’t be disappointed with time spent at Yoga for Life!!

Yoga For Life is truly a healing space. The teachers radiate real warmth, inspiring people to grow both in their practice & within. Their devotion to transformation is contagious. Community is powerful; it's exciting to tap into this well of energy we all create together.
When I found Yoga For Life, it was by word-of-mouth. I had been practicing at a couple local studios and finally felt that sense of community... that sense of connection I was craving. After years of just going to yoga, looking for that 'spark', I felt like I'd found my home. Five years later, it is a gift

Yoga for Life offers Universal Yoga Mandala classes, and they provide the best yogic experience I've ever had. They are the kind of classes that every yogi should experience, as they include asanas, breathing exercises and chanting. Together, this culminates in order to create an incredibly powerful savasana and post effect. These classes are specialized, last approximately three hours and are hosted once per month. Everyone should experience Yoga for Life and these amazing classes.

I've been a member of HYFL for over a year, and while I do like trying out other studios across the city for variety, this is the only studio that has consistently been my home. The staff and management are extremely friendly and always willing to take the time to chat about yoga, the studio, or answer any questions. The studio is kept clean - as well it can be for a popular hot yoga floor! :) The instructors vary quite a bit in what they focus on and offer to each class. Some instructors are more involved in walking through the asanas and some like to focus on the mindfulness and meditation

In 2013, when I was searching for a studio to pick up my practice again after a couple year's hiatus, I intended on checking out all of the new student deals around town. HYFL was the third studio that I visited (10 classes for $10!) and I didn't end up going anywhere else.

The instructors are super friendly, personal, welcoming and most importantly nonjudgemental, as are the students. I see the staff consistently welcoming new students and setting them up for success by making sure they have what they need, showing them around and explaining the heat flow of the room, or helping them

The people at Hot Yoga for Life are what makes this place special. If you are not sure about trying hot yoga or looking for a new studio to call home, come try this place out ! A focus on cultivating awareness of our individual bodies needs , with an emphasis on Self Acceptance, there is an open door policy where anyone is welcome to practice with no experience levels in their class . At the same time, the teachers can safely guide you into deeper Asanas to challenge the depth of your postures strength, balance and breath. The classes are all unique and different, I attend class fairly regularly

Update as of 9/6/16.
The issue of o reheating the room is solved. All classes I've been to in past three weeks had good temperature. Appear fly more than one person complained and they did some extra training and reminding about it. So now I can safely say Beaverton studio is no longer 155 degrees.
They also were very accommodating and included me in promotional price for the next three months for the inconvenience I had to experience.
I really appreciate when business listens and ready to make up for trouble. It shows they care about you as a customer.

I am so lucky to have this lovey studio a few minutes walk from my front door. I have been going to classes for two years, and want to share my positive experience.

Having read through some of the other reviews i think its pretty cheeky to take the 10 for $10 offer, go to one class and think you can review the place.. just saying..

If you like hot yoga - this place has got to have best heaters in town. As i lie in a pool of sweat i sometimes think about the contractors who installed the mega furnace in the ceiling, as well as the heated floor. Besides being authentically hot, the studio ambiance

After being out of practice for 3 years now, I'm incredibly glad I chose HYFL as my studio. As a hair stylist, I've been plagued with back pain from long days on my feet and holding awkward body positions. Work was harder over time and the pain got worse. After failed attempts with doctors/chiropractors - I decided to take up Yoga again.

I showed up 30 minutes before the Traditional Hot Hatha class with Deidre. I filled out the new student paperwork and let her know about my back pain. She showed me where I could keep my things and also let me know where to set up in the studio (which

I give it 3 stars for the things I like 1) the lighting is very nice and they keep it low for the majority of the class 2) $70 intro price for 2 months of yoga! what an awesome deal 3) late 7pm class, which is really nice.

Ok, for the negatives, keep in mind that this was my first class at this particular studio, and chances are I could possibly have a better experience here later on, but right now, I did not enjoy my first night.

firstly, they pack the room like a can of sardines. It was an evening class and there were 30+ people. They have a broiler (literally) on the ceiling to heat the
