For centuries the people of Mexico have harvested the gifts of the soil: corn, chilies, fresh vegetables, and natural spices. It is this harmony with nature that gives Mexican cooking its rich and natural flavors. For over 25 years, the Ortiz Family has strived to keep the Mexican tradition alive by using the finest and freshest ingredients available to prepare our authentic Mexican cuisine.
In 1991, Don Manuel and Marlen opened "El Cielito Lindo" - the first Mexican restaurant in South Beach - and changed the name to "El Rancho Grande" in 1992. El Rancho Grande's doors were opened for 23 years and left a memorable mark on the South Beach restaurant scene -- known for the best Mexican cuisine and margaritas, and, of course, the biggest Cinco de Mayo block party.
