Dr. Hight graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He established Hight Veterinary Hospital in 1997 after practicing in Raleigh. With expertise in small animal care, he owns two rescue dogs and maintains active involvement in continuing veterinary education.
Joy Fine
Relief Veterinarian
Dr. Fine earned her veterinary degree from Ross University and completed acupuncture certification at the Chi Institute. She has worked with Hight Veterinary Hospital since 2014, offering specialized care while maintaining interests in alternative medicine and performing arts.

Are you open on weekends?
We operate Saturday mornings 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM but are closed every other Saturday. Please check our website for specific weekend schedules and holiday hours.
Do you handle pet emergencies?

What boarding requirements do you have?
Boarding pets must have current vaccinations including rabies, distemper, and bordetella. We require negative fecal exams within the past year and provide twice-daily feeding, cleaning, and exercise for all boarding guests.

Curbside Vet appointment. Very courteous (a little bit expensive) but honest and did cost comparisons for heartworm meds. He was happy (big bulldog mix) so I am happy.

I needed a new vet close to campus and Dr. Hight and all the staff have been incredible. Dr. Hight has gone above and beyond every time to help my furr babies. I highly recommend Hight Veterinary Hospital for your pets. It has been a great experience each time and very affordable for the service they give! The staff are, knowledgeable, they know each animal individually and they seemingly form a personal bond with our animals. Our “Petey” loves his visits, he gets to see his friends and we’re confident he’s getting the best care available.
