Lineberger Veterinary Hospital partners with you to keep your furry family happy & healthy. Our Gastonia veterinarians have served the community since 1989. Here, we treat pets like family. We understand how important your companion is to you - because they're there for you through the thick and thin of life, with a wagging tail or a happy purr, and unconditional love.
Our goal is to be your partner in taking care of your pet's physical and mental wellbeing, so you can enjoy many happy years together. So, whether your pet needs a checkup with a doctor. My name is Edward M. Lineberger, DVM and I am the Owner and Veterinarian at Lineberger Veterinary Hospital. I graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Animal Science and then obtained my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 also from NCSU.

Diagnostics & Laboratory
Report
For that reason, diagnostic tests may be recommended for both well pets, and for pets who are ill. For ill pets, diagnostic tests can help get to the root of the problem more quickly - and thus, get your pet treated and back to normal health faster and more efficiently. The thing about sick pets is, they often have "non-specific" symptoms.
Pain Management
Report
Often, it can be surprisingly tricky to tell whether or not your furry family member is in pain. That's because dogs and cats tend to not complain like humans do, and instead, try to mask their pain (at least until it gets worse). Adding non-slip surfaces - this is especially helpful for dogs whose legs slide out from under them on wood or tile floors.
Wound Care
Report
If your furry best friend gets a wound - such as a bite, scrape, cut, or burn - you'll want them to be healed as quickly as possible, and comfortable during the healing process. For more routine wounds - like minor cuts and scrapes, broken toenails, or hot spots, for example - you'll still want to seek care as soon as possible.
Emergency Pet Services
Report
If you feel your pet may be currently experiencing a medical emergency, please seek veterinary care right away. Or, after hours, call the UrgentVet Belmont at 704-825-8868 or Carolina Veterinary Specialists at 704-504-9608. However, just like for us humans, it's better to be prepared ahead of time, and know exactly where to take your pet should an emergency happen.
Surgery & Anesthesia
Report
Just like for us humans, sometimes it can feel scary when a loved one has to undergo surgery and anesthesia - and it's understandable that you might worry about your furry family member. Here at Lineberger Vetrenary Hospital, we offer a variety of surgical services, ranging from routine spays and neuters, to special procedures such as abdominal surgeries, mass removals, eye and ear surgeries, and many more.
