Billings Equestrian is a professionally managed riding program that offers services to both dressage and western pleasure students located at The Ranch at Birch Creek in Livermore, CA. The business is owned and operated by Samantha Billings Coatney. Sam is a USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist who has been coaching riders for over 15 years.
Sam is known not just for her riding talent, but for her warm personality that makes every student feel special. Whether Sam is teaching a first-time rider or show coaching an experienced professional, her patience, sensitivity and knowledge shines through. Sam's program is in a welcoming, relaxed environment where riders of all ages always feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and making friends.

Sam has been instructing riders and training horses for over a decade. What started with one lesson horse, Pepper, has grown to several school horses and ponies; horses for lease; client horses in full-time training; horse-buying trips to Europe and her own horses that she trains and competes. Sam also hosts clinics and invites expert trainers from her network to provide Sam's students with additional instruction and perspectives.

We are so fortunate to have an amazing group of horses at Billings Equestrian - horses that we consider family. Each of them has a unique personality and set of strengths, all of them share the calm temperament and sweetness that are essential for horses used in an educational training program. Pepper was the first horse that Samantha Billings purchased to start her lesson program over 10 years ago.

Billings Equestrian provides horse training and horseback riding services at The Ranch at Birch Creek in Livermore. The Ranch offers an amazing facility for students and is now open for horse-boarding as well. Beautiful horse condos with 12x12 stalls with 40x40 attached turn-outs allowing horses ample room to move, roll and live more naturally than traditional boarding accommodations.

Billings Equestrian now operates out of The Ranch at Birch Creek in Livermore, located at 8433 Patterson Pass Road in Livermore.
