Common Issues

Although therapy involves exploring feelings and beliefs, it is also about making a concrete plan for growth. Your past experiences influence your current thoughts and feelings about your present life circumstances. Dwelling in the past, however, is never the goal of therapy. The Russian philosopher, G.I. Gurdjieff said, "If you wish to get out of prison, the first thing you must do is realize that you are in prison."

If you are coupled or otherwise partnered, it is important to reflect on your relationship - especially in times of significant change.
Depression

If you answered Yes to five or more of the above, you may very likely be suffering from depression. Yet 80% of depressed individuals are not receiving treatment, and likely don't even realize they are depressed. Depressed individuals commonly report a general lack of energy or motivation, along with significant changes in eating and/or sleeping patterns.
Anxiety
Report
Anxiety and/or worry about a number of events, such as work, financial matters, school performance, etc. If you answered Yes to three or more of the above, you may be suffering from generalized anxiety. Individuals suffering from anxiety are 3-5 times more likely to go to the doctor, as anxiety often mimics physical illness.
