Paul Marcus Wines is a friendly, sophisticated neighborhood wineshop in the Rockridge Market Hall, located in Oakland California. We carry European and domestic wines, with an emphasis on distinctive French, Italian, German, Austrian, Spanish, Eastern European, and Californian producers. We taste and personally select everything in the store in order to bring you the highest quality, most authentic, and best value wines from these regions.
Paul Marcus Wines was founded in 1987 by Paul Marcus; Paul is of course the store's founder and owner. Paul's palate is as keen as his ear - before starting Paul Marcus Wines, he was a record buyer for Leopold's in Berkeley. Since then, Paul Marcus Wines has grown to be a staple in Market Hall and the community of Rockridge.

Customers and people in the wine business will tell you, Paul Marcus Wines is arguably the finest wine shop in the Bay Area, especially for its size. As the first retailer to open in Rockridge Market Hall over 30 years ago Paul and Market Hall Foods (Pasta Shop) are the only continuous owners. The focus has always been wines from Europe.

The PMW Wine Club offers three different courses, each at the same price of $75 per month, plus tax (and shipping, l if required). Once you join, payment is automatically processed on the first day of each month. Wine club selections are ready for pickup or shipment on the first Thursday of the month.
