The food was pretty good but have to give 3 stars for the service / bill handling. When it got time to pay the bill the server never gave us the line item receipt. Just took our card and swiped it (he also auto tipped himself I'm pretty sure 20%).
When it printed out we realized there was a $5-6 fee for using credit card. If we knew that we would've paid with cash. Not really going to trip about that but I think price transparency before you check out is important

What a neighborhood gem!! If you're looking for amazing Indian food, look no further. This is a cute, family owned restaurant with fun decor. We started with samosas and ordered garlic, spinach naan and butter chicken. WOW. Easily the best butter chicken I've ever had. Prices are reasonable, service was great and quick and food was fantastic. It had so much flavor and was cooked perfectly.

My bf and I came here on Christmas eve. Kush was out server and host and was so pleasant. The drinks were delicious. The garlic soup was AMAZING!!! I had the lamb and my bf had the chicken curry. He hasn't explored too much Indian food so that was a good start and he LOVED it. Would definitely recommend!

Awesome food!
Totally loved it!
Don't forget to try their " Lasooni Gobhi " its the highlight of their restaurant..
We also ordered saag & malai paneer , garlic naan (trust me never seen a proper garlic naan as this restaurant makes) worth trying.
The rice along with the curry is boiled to perfection!
A wholesome full 5 from my side

We were in Manhattan for the weekend and were in the mood for Indian food. Called to see if we needed a reservation but they said just come on in. Oh my goodness are we glad we did!! We got the Masala King Deal with Vegetable Samosas and Chicken Tikka Masala which came with rice and naan and Vegetable Pakorma to share and it was around $30. Everything tasted so amazing. The tikka was flavorful with just the right amount of heat, the pakorma and samosas come with a flavorful mint and tamarind chutney, the naan was fresh and warm. It was just the right amount of food and so yummy. The service was

My friend and I were craving some delicious comfort food when we stumbled upon this place. We made reservations online through their website, but ended up arriving half and hour early, and was able to get seated right away.
The restaurant is located very conveniently super close to the 6 train and is in a great location. Ambience was nice and spacious . They have both indoor and outdoor dining options available which is nice. It was way too cold and windy so we decided to dine indoors.
For our appetizers we ordered the veggie samosas and bhel puri. Both were delicious. For our entrees we ordered

First time trying Indian food and I was NOT disappointed. Masala King is located a few blocks away from 34st Herald Square. The atmosphere here was quite chill and laid back. We also weren't asked for our COVID vaccination card.
We ordered the butter chicken and garlic nann. The server was very nice and welcoming. He asked us the level of spiciness we preferred (mild or hot). We chose mild which was great. The chicken was super tender and well seasoned. The garlic naan was somewhat crunchy. My boyfriend tried the vegetable samosa, and it was super delicious. Very soft and contained peas

Second time coming to masala king. While the food was great as expected, the service was definitely strained. We stood at the front of the restaurant for five minutes (with a reservation) and eventually decided to seat ourselves. Ten minutes later and no one came to bring us water or take our order. We also asked for papadum and chutney and the waiter had no idea what we were talking about and said that he would check, only to never come back.
I do enjoy this restaurant, but unfortunately the lack of service is catching up to their increasing demand and popularity.

Ok the chicken tikka masala was really good but the other dishes we tried were pretty unfortunate. My favorite Indian dish is chicken vindaloo - I try it almost everywhere I go and it's traditionally a very spicy dish. I ordered it spicy here but when it arrived it didn't taste like anything. Sent it back. This time I ordered yellow lentils with spinach - also spicy. They got the spice relatively right this time but once again the food was lacking flavor.
As appetizers we got the chicken samosas and the lentil soup. The soup was SO sweet it just threw me off. Another dish that I&apos

BEST Indian restaurant I've found in NYC so far and clearly very underrated by NYers. I've been a regular customer here for a few months and I have never been disappointed. I even ordered lunch for a friend from here and she had to text me the next day asking where the food was from!
Their Paneer Makhani, Lamb Vindaloo, and Malai Kofta were absolutely amazing. The flavors are incredible but I noticed that the texture of the paneer was not hard and chewy like some other restaurants, but perfectly tender. The Lamb Vindaloo had the perfect amount of spice (yes, it is very spicy but not

I came here with a friend for dinner recently. I passed by this place before, admiring the gorgeous décor for outdoor dining, so I knew I wanted to experience the restaurant for myself. The outdoor dining area was enclosed in a wooden shed-like structure, and there was a pretty, colorful abstract art piece in front. Upon stepping into the shed, there were fairy lights all over, and pink roses on the ceiling and along the sides. This created a beautiful sparkly glowing ambiance. The tables were deep brown wood, and the table setting had white plates, and glittery pink coasters.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon for their bottomless brunch. I was told about this restaurant by a friend who did the Pulsd deal (which you can buy online- it includes 60 minutes of bottomless mimosas/bellinis/champagne, plus two entrees all for $39).
As soon as we got there, we were seated immediately. There was a cute outdoor area set up, but unfortunately we had to sit inside because it was raining/wet outside. There were just a couple tables set up inside. Not sure if it was because of Covid or if they usually don't operate in a high capacity.
What I will say is that the food

Had a nice meal here and the owner Kush is a great host and very friendly. 4.6 stars: goat biriyani and the peshawari naan 4.3 stars: saag paneer and the carrot gajar halwa dessert (It was served cold and I think it's better served hot) 3.5 stars: goat vindaloo (the sauce was a bit too tomato sauce like, not quite enough Indian flavor, I wish I could describe it better but I'm not familiar enough with this recipe to point out which spices were missing). We ordered the prix fixe which was overall a pretty good value.

Oh my. Where do I begin. Masala King is the spot to go to when you are craving real rich flavors and quality food. It was actually my first time having Indian food and I was definitely not disappointed. I always thought Indian food would be too spicy for me and numb my tongue, but everything I tried was was rich of savoriness. I am salivating while writing this. The prices on their menu is super affordable too so if you're ever hungry and crave a warm delicious meal, this is the spot. Their portion sizes are really generous too. They're also really responsible with seating everyone right

This is legit my go to Indian spot ! It's a family owned biz and their all super friendly and nice. You can taste the love in their food and cooking! Dont even mention that it's super comforting and not overly spicy. Just the right amount of heat and so flavorful!
Ive been bringing all my friends here and they all love it.
Chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, paneer saag, samosa chaat, garlic nann, poori & this vegetarian meatball dish (don't know the name but that sauce is crack)
Literally to die For! It's a must go & try!

We had been here for indoor dining. The decor was nice but the music was too loud and blaring. The service was nice and pretty quick. We started off with chicken 65 which was tangy and spicy as we requested. This was followed by chicken masala(their chef specialty) and garlic shrimp bhuna with garlic naan. Both entrees were accompanied with rice. The chicken masala was okay but the garlic shrimp was mind blowing. The gravy was delicious and tasty. We finished with their saffron rasmalai which was heavenly but the portion size was tiny for $6. Overall the experience was nice. Everyone wore masks

I've had dosas in many places. I believe dosas are supposed to be crispy even though the sizes are small. There is a place in flushing which is very famous for dosas and their sizes are small too but their dosas are very crispy. I'm sorry to say but I was little disappointed with the dosa.
I was really impressed with the tomato chutney which came with dosa because it was flavorful. However, the other chutney (coconut chutney) wasn't really good and I felt like it wasn't really fresh.
Overall, excellent service and beautiful interior.

It is a family owned business and the son recently took ownership and has been doing tons of renovations.
The place is gorgeous and has glitter walls (totally my style). The restaurant is also featuring local art pieces as part of their art exhibition in their dining area. The outdoor space is super cozy and one of the few places I went to where I was actually warm. They had heaters and an Encapsulated area that prevents wind from coming in.
For drinks we tried the mango lassi and salty yogurt lassi. The yogurt lassi was interesting ( my husband loved it) - it was like a whipped yogurt drink

We have been ordering from Masala King about once a month in quarantine, because during these times we have really needed to have reliably comforting Indian food in our bellies. We sometimes consider ordering from someplace else, but we're so happy with Masala King and don't want to push our comfort zones too much when we're ordering comfort food.
The food is always exactly what we're craving. We usually get garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, chana saag (chickpeas in spinach) but lately we're trying to cut back on meat and have done chana masala and aloo saag instead.

We got the chicken tikka masala dosa ($18). this was such a delight! there was chicken tikka masala, two chutneys, house fries, and sambar. the chicken tikka

The ambience is Fine! The Food is Good! Clean restrooms. There is a Live Kitchen for the breads, which is a plus point for the customers who are new to the Indian Cuisine. The service is warm and nice. Although the lights at night are not good at all...they should change it ASAP. It was a blue lighting and it made the overall dining experience a bit lousy.
