Growing up in Central FL was amazing! I was blessed to experience firsthand why Florida is known as "The Fishing Capitol of the World." I started out fishing at a very young age, and my passion for the sport grows stronger ever year. I started my love of salt water fishing over 25 years ago. At the age of 16, I would take my small aluminum boat over to the south shore of Tampa Bay, and fish the famous Cockroach Bay area.

These are great trips for all ages and experience levels! Tarpon season in our area kicks off as early as late February on warmer years but typically fires up good mid March into April. The large migration of fish start to show up along our beaches and can be in schools of ten to upwards of five hundred fish.

Spring fishing has sprung. With the warming water temps comes some of our pelagic species such as kingfish and cobia. The kingfish are holding on live bottom areas off of Anna Maria island in 35-45 feet of water. Snook are pushing up into the Manatee river making fishing docks very productive. Live shrimp and scaled sardines freelined have been best.
