
Dr. Donna Repeta is a Rays fan who grew up in St. Petersburg. She came to The Cat Hospital on Park Street in 2006 and has owned the practice since March of 2015. She attended the University of Florida, where she was Captain of the UF Equestrian Team, and earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine, as well as a bachelor's degree in microbiology.
When not caring for the cats she loves, Dr. Repeta enjoys bike riding, gardening and quiet time with a good book. Dr. Repeta loves all aspects of Feline medicine and has a special fondness for helping cat lovers keep their older kitties happy and healthy. All of our veterinary technicians or nurses, are credentialed from the State of Florida. This means that each veterinary technician completed a minimum of two years of training in an accredited school providing a veterinary technician program and then had to also pass a comprehensive state accreditation examination.

Wellness visits are essential to the health and well being of all cats regardless of their life style. In the past vaccinations were the most important part of the yearly visit. Now the emphasis in feline medicine has shifted to early detection of illnesses. The American Veterinary Medical Association now recommends having semiannual exams on all cats regardless of lifestyle.
Vaccinations

According to the American Association of Feline Practitioners, all cats should receive two core vaccines, the Rabies vaccine and the FVRCP vaccine which protects your cat from upper respiratory and viral diarrhea diseases. Kittens receive the first of three FVRCP vaccines at eight week of age; the second and third FVRCP vaccines are given at 3 week intervals.
