Island Life Animal Hospital was founded on a vision by Drs. Johnathan Pierce and Danielle Gallo-Pierce. Together, we built a full-service and progressive 3,500 sqft Veterinary practice in the St. Petersburg, FL area. As pet owners ourselves, we strive to focus on preventative care, advanced diagnostics, as well as routine and state-of-the-art surgical procedures.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Dr. Danielle Gallo has strong roots in the Sunshine State including now residing in the St. Petersburg area where her close-knit family has also relocated. A graduate of Florida International University, Dr. Gallo first received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biological Sciences (Magna Cum Laude) in 2005 before pursuing her lifelong dream to become a veterinarian.

A Florida native, Meagan has been involved in the pet care industry for close to a decade working in the capacity of veterinary reception and doggy daycare. As our lead Customer Service Specialist, Meagan is our main point of contact when pet owners call or enter our animal hospital. Her experience, kindness, and warm demeanor is a huge asset to our team at Island Life Animal Hospital.

Many silent conditions are caught while pets undergo a comprehensive physical exam, including during their wellness visit. Wellness services involve but are not limited to a comprehensive physical exam, vaccinations, and parasite testing such as heartworm and fecal testing. Blood panels, radiographs, and ultrasound may also be recommended based on exam findings, age of your pet, or familial/breed related history of disease.

Maintaining your pet's dental health is crucial to your pets overall health. Dental disease, in the long run, can affect the heart, liver, kidneys, and overall pet wellness. Most animals will not show signs of discomfort or pain even if they have periodontal disease that may be extreme. At Island Life Animal Hospital, we offer dental procedures in our own dedicated dental suite.
