The Village Nursery School is a non-profit, private school for toddler and preschool age children serving families from Harvard and surrounding towns. Our developmentally appropriate, child-centered approach honors the uniqueness of each child while providing an interesting and enriching experience.
This literature based program for Pre-K aged children runs on Fridays 9-1. Children explore interesting and engaging children's books using Art, music, nature, science, and math activities. Village Nursery School (VNS) offers a wonderful set of weekly nature based summer programs for two-four weeks in the summer.

The Village Nursery School is a non-profit, non-denominational preschool and kindergarten. Founded in 1953, VNS is the oldest continually operating preschool in Harvard. Dedicated to the education of the whole child, VNS provides a rich classroom environment experience focusing on promoting intellectual, creative, physical, social, and emotional growth.

Village Nursery School (VNS) educates children intellectually, creatively, socially, emotionally, and physically. The foundation of our program is a rich classroom experience which provides an educational environment dedicated to integrating, building upon, and valuing the differing needs and unique qualities of all students.
Programs

VNS operates for 36 weeks each academic year and generally follows the Harvard public school calendar, with a few modifications. We begin in September and end in June. We cannot offer enough positive feedback for VNS. Thank you ALL for your dedication to a safe, enriching, and positive environment for our kids.
Preschool & Pre-K

VNS operates for 36 weeks each academic year and generally follows the Harvard public school calendar. We begin in September and end in June. Three year old programs are often a child's first introduction to school. Emphasis is on learning to navigate a classroom setting and to be part of a group. Sensory, fine motor, beginning math and science activities are offered for children to explore.
