For seventy-five years, LNS, a Reggio-inspired partnership of teachers, family members and children, has created a meaningful and reflective school, establishing a foundation for lifelong learning. Our location at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum broadens our experiences and sense of community.
Lincoln Nursery School is a cooperative partnership among our citizens - children, teachers, and families, as well as our broader community. We value open communication and mutual respect, are committed to social justice, and foster a culture of collaboration to encourage every child to take action in a connected world.

About Us
Report
We represent a cooperative partnership among our citizens - children, teachers, and caregivers. Founded in 1944 by a small group of innovative parents with a firm belief in cooperative nursery school education, our community values open communication and mutual respect. Learning through play and inquiry, listening and dialog, we generate a multiplicity of relationships.
Faculty
Report
Lincoln Nursery School has a faculty of unusual depth and experience. Our teachers embrace professional growth through a spirit of inquiry and collegiality. We are inspired by current best practices in early childhood education, as well as our collaborative community. We find that our work as teachers is enhanced by the transparency of our cooperative environment: we both support and learn from parent partners.
Cooperative
Report
At LNS, parents participate in and help shape the magic of their child's first school experience. In keeping with the school's philosophy of cooperative education, parents are involved in all aspects of the school, including parent helping, serving either on the board of directors or a committee, and participating in community events.
DeCordova
Report
As part of being on the deCordova grounds, LNS children and teachers regularly use the campus and surrounding conservation land as their classroom. Throughout the year, children observe and respond to changing installations of sculpture, the work of staff and visiting artists, and the seasons.
The children's voices have come to inform the deCordova's interpretive installations and programs with a creative and collaborative spirit-an approach focused on discovery through experience rather than delivery of information.
