All of the CNS preschool programs provide a wide-ranging play experience under the supervision of experienced teachers. Our environment and curriculum are geared to children of the same developmental age. The curriculum emphasizes play, social interaction and creativity, and encourages curiosity and the development of self-esteem by emphasizing the child's ability to make choices for themselves.
At Community Nursery School of Wayland, we believe that the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of the preschool child is enhanced by a preschool/nursery school environment. We believe that children learn best when they are actively participating in hands-on, interactive experiences.

About Us
Report
We provide several art choices each day as well as a kinesthetic table, science, math and writing centers. First and foremost, your child's feelings and personalities are valued. We get to know your children and know how to best relate to them. We are a preschool which provides for noisy, active children as well as a safe area for quieter children.
Our History
Report
Community Nursery School of Wayland's history dates back to 1965, making it one of the first preschools in Wayland. Roberta Wambolt established the preschool back in 1965 with a group of other mothers who were looking for someplace to educate and socialize their toddlers. Of the original group, she's the only one still there.
Philosophy
Report
At Community Nursery School (CNS) of Wayland, Inc., we believe that the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of the preschool child is enhanced by nursery school. At CNS, we focus on the growth and development of the whole child. We feel that preschool activities encourage each child to relate to others through listening, sharing, taking turns, following directions and concentrating on activities.
