Total Knee Replacement Surgery
Report
A normal knee acts like a hinge joint between the femur (thigh bone) and tibia and fibula (lower leg bones). The joint surfaces where the bones come together are covered with articular cartilage which wears out over time like the tread of a tire. This progressive loss of articular cartilage is called arthritis and is related to age, gender, genetics, race, trauma, occupation, and body mass.
