The Trainer

Matt grew up in a small town in Washington state. Since he was a small boy, Matt has always had a passion for dogs and duck hunting. The passion would later turn into a dream when he started working closely with Ryan Fortier, owner of Long Hollow Retrievers in Ellensburg, WA. Countless hours refining his art of dog training, Matt developed his own program and the start of Copperwood Kennels.
Training

Your dog will be ready to enter AKC Master Hunt Tests. This level of training is for owners who are serious about competing in AKC hunt tests or those who want a finished gun dog. The Advanced training is a long term commitment. This is for dogs that have already gone through part of our training program but need some tuning work before the hunting season begins.
Facilities

Copperwood Kennels is situated on 10 acres in the beautiful PNW. Throughout the area we have access to train on several thousand acres of private property that is used as training ground. We also have a seasonal pond at the facility that we use for intro to water and various other small training setups.
