Our therapists provide individualized speech-language screenings, evaluations and therapy in your home or child's school. We serve the following communities: Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington, Potomac, Rockville, and Northwest DC. Melissa Lockard is an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certified speech language pathologist with 20+ years of experience working with preschoolers, families, educators and professionals.

She holds licenses in Maryland and Virginia and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from George Mason University, VA in 1992, and her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Gallaudet University, Washington, DC in 1999.Melissa honed her skills and gained expertise working with special needs children for the Alexandria City Public School system in their Preschool and Child Find programs.

Melissa Lockard, M.S. CCC-SLP is a warm, nurturing and dynamic therapist who immediately connected with my daughter and made her feel comfortable. After a short 7 months of speech therapy, she is now a confident communicator with teachers and friends.
