I was 7-years old and I did not want to read. I knew that I was able to but I felt that something was missing. I come from a tradition of voices: pirate growls, southern drawls, prim ladies, and bold animals. My mother was a drama major in college and used her talent to engage and enchant my sister and me every night as she read or made up stories for us.

Founded in 1966 by local mom and artist Jane Humphrey, Once Upon A Time has been a magical place for thousands of children and adults alike throughout the years. The Palacios family, by way of our then 9-year old daughter Jessica's letter-to-the-editor and her now famous question: "Where will I find my fifth Harry Potter book if there is no Once Upon A Time?" became the proud and inexperienced owners of a community treasure.

Gift Cards

This is a traditional physical Gift Card. It is available in any denomination from $5.00 up and can be sent by US Mail to the recipient or picked up at our store. It will never expire or lose value and can be redeemed on our website or at our store in Montrose. Gift cards are not currently redeemable for Digital Audiobooks or Kobo ebooks.
