An iconic cornerstone of Larchmont Village in Hancock Park, Chevalier's was founded in 1940 by book maverick Joe Chevalier. As a general trade bookstore we take great pride in our curation and are confident we can find a book for anyone- from the seven year old who exclusively reads about dinosaurs to the literary connoisseur in the mood for a Bulgarian epic.

Curbside Pickup: Ask us if we have a book and pick it up hassle free outside our store. If we don't have a book, we'll happily order it for you and let you know when it's ready for pickup. If you'd like to order a book we currently don't have in stock at Chevalier's, we can ship orders straight from our warehouses to your doorstep for a $6 shipping fee (UPS Ground).

Purchase a gift certificate online and we'll send you a digital copy of it. If you'd like to also pickup a physical copy, please select the "Store Pickup" option when you check out. Gift certificates will also be saved in our system under the name of the recipient so don't worry if you lose it.
