Founded in 1958 by William G. Uhl, Sr., The Uhl Agency has grown into the largest locally owned independent insurance agency in the greater Dayton, Ohio area. The Uhl Agency currently employs 13 full-time team members, 11 of whom hold insurance licenses, and the team has over 220 combined years of experience in the insurance industry.

Well-known to the Dayton community for his basketball prowess in the 1950's, William G. Uhl Sr., used his 7-foot frame to become a consensus second-team All-American center for the University of Dayton Flyers in 1956.
Originally from Greenfield, Ohio and subsequently earning the nickname "Greenfield Goliath, " William led the Flyers to the NIT championship games in 1955 and 1956, was named to Dayton's All-Century team during the 2004-04 season, and was inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013.After his college career concluded, William founded the Wm.
