We are volunteers who have received extensive training under the auspices of Virginia Tech and the VCE Loudoun office to provide unbiased research-based horticultural information to the community.
We serve the community through Help Desk Support, Garden Clinics, Demonstration Garden, Speaking Engagements and Special Events like our Annual Symposium. In the mid-80s Loudoun County was still predominantly agricultural, and the Director of VCE Loudoun saw a need for "Neighborhood Plant Consultants" to provide horticultural advice to county residents.

Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners are trained volunteer educators. Working with Loudoun County communities, our mission is to encourage and promote environmentally sound horticulture practices through sustainable landscape management education and training.

In 2012, the Demo Garden was recognized by the Loudoun County Design Cabinet for the "Signatures of Loudoun Design Excellence Award" as a winner in the Public Landscapes category. This accolade bestows recognition of "design excellence demonstrated in the form of public greens, plazas and squares, which, by their organization and attributes, have created gathering places that are icons of our community".

The Loudoun County Master Gardeners Association is an all volunteer, nonprofit organization that depends on support from the community and the Virginia Cooperative Extension Office to carry out our mission. You can support us by making purchases at our Spring plant sales at the Flower & Garden Show in Leesburg, our Online Plant Sales, attending our Gardening Symposium or by making a monetary donation.
