Welcome to Mathnasium-your neighborhood math-only learning center that teaches kids math the way that makes sense to them. Our experienced math tutors utilize our proprietary teaching materials and techniques, The Mathnasium Method, to deliver a customized learning plan designed to address each student's needs, whether they started out far behind or are already ahead in math.
Our instruction approach goes beyond traditional math tutoring to develop understanding and build a love for math. We want to find the sum of 9 + 8 + 7. Using our number sense, we turn to "friendly numbers" such as 10 or multiples of 10, to help make this math easier to work with. To find a quarter of any amount, cut the whole into "4 parts the same" and take any one part.

Our History
Report
In the 1990s, education industry pioneers Peter Markovitz and David Ullendorff recognized that, to truly be successful in school and in life, students need a solid understanding of mathematics. There was a vast disconnect, though, between students' learning skills and the math curriculum they were taught in school.
Math Programs
Report
When math makes sense, kids leap way ahead - whether they started far behind or already ahead in math. Our formula for teaching kids math, the Mathnasium Method has transformed the way kids learn math for over a decade across 500+ centers in the US and Canada. Our time-tested approach is successful in large part because it strongly focuses on the two major components of education: content and delivery.
Elementary School
Report
At Mathnasium, we know how vital learning math is in elementary school-it forms the foundation for all your child's future math studies. To make it understandable, we take an orderly, logical approach to teaching it to your child. We begin with computation and problem solving using whole numbers, and then move on to computation and problem solving with rational numbers-fractions, decimals, percents, and negative numbers.
Middle School
Report
In Mathnasium's middle school program, students master computation and problem solving with rational numbers, i.e., fractions, decimals, and percents, as part of the process of algebra readiness-preparing for first-year algebra (algebra I). This creates a solid mathematical foundation for future subjects such as algebra II, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus.
High School
Report
In high school, students focus on higher math-including algebra I, geometry, algebra II, trigonometry, and pre-calculus-in preparation for high school exit exams, college placement exams, and standardized college entrance exams such as the SAT and the ACT. By the time they reach high school, all students perform at different skill levels.
