Mental Health Support & Guardianship Services in Northeast Indiana
Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana (MHANI) has been a dedicated advocate for mental health awareness and support since its founding in 1954. Our organization serves over 4,000 individuals annually across 11 counties in Northeast Indiana, providing critical services for individuals facing mental health challenges, families seeking guidance, and professionals requiring specialized resources. We prioritize person-centered decision-making in our guardianship services, ensuring advocacy for seniors and adults with disabilities who cannot manage their own affairs. Our peer support programs connect individuals with trained specialists who share lived experiences, fostering recovery through mentoring and community-based support groups. We offer evidence-based mental health trainings, including Youth/Adult Mental Health First Aid and suicide prevention programs, tailored to meet the unique needs of organizations and workplaces.

Our Creative Growth and Emotion Explorers initiatives use art and literature to help participants process emotions and build resilience, accessible to all without requiring a mental health diagnosis. We maintain a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring services and employment opportunities are available to all individuals regardless of background or circumstance. Our team collaborates with care providers, volunteer advocates, and professional advisory boards to create comprehensive support systems for clients. We operate under strict ethical guidelines, emphasizing transparency in our operations and partnerships with local healthcare providers and legal professionals. With over six decades of experience, we continue to expand our reach through community education, advocacy, and innovative programming that addresses evolving mental health needs.
