Physical Therapy is one of the most powerful therapeutic interventions for lifelong healing. Physical Therapy is a conservative, educational and individualized approach that teaches you how to have healthy movement patterns in your body. Without healthy patterns, our body is susceptible to injury, pain, dysfunction and early aging.

Mobility Phase: When a baby is born they are very mobile and require an adult to provide stability to their fragile body. Stablity Phase: Around 6 months, a baby will start to sit up for lengths of time, a development phase that indicates they are working on stability. Stability with Mobility Phase: A few months later (around 8-9 months old), a baby will sit and begin to reach for a toy outside their periphery.

Here's the deal. We didn't make up anatomy or body mechanics. And, when you consider how the body was designed, there are 4 main elements needed to return to happy, healthy running. Most people teach running from the foot to hip. It makes absolutely no sense on how the body is organized. You must have trunk stability for foot mobility.

Pilates is a practical and powerful form of exercise that will help you achieve happy, healthy movement. This is a fun-spirited class designed to break down specific movements: teaser, spine stretch forward and spinal articulation to give you a deeper Pilates practice. Each class is unique and layered with new challenges.

Lori is passionate about her profession and opened Duncan Sports Therapy and Wellness in 2014 to help everyone achieve healthy, pain-free movement. As an athlete herself, she understands the importance of having a balanced, stable and strong body. Lori attended the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in FL and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and, later, her Manual Therapy Certification.

Pain and injury cause confusion to the body and shut down certain muscles. When these muscles shut down our body tries to compensate with other muscles and movement patterns. This leads to dysfunction and pain in the body. Physical therapy reorganizes the brain to use the correct muscles and healthy movement patterns.
