We work in teaching teams to develop programs based on cooperation, sharing of ideas, and respect for the individual. The Acorn class, with 9 students, has two teachers and a teacher's aid; and the Maples and Oaks, with a group size up to 10 each, also have two teachers per classroom. The Willows have two teachers with 13 children.

Spruce Street Nursery School provides a joyous early learning experience for children ages 2 through 5 years. Spruce Street accommodates a maximum of 49 children at any given time. By maintaining a teacher to child ratio of 1 to 4.5 throughout the school, we are able to provide a warm and nurturing nursery school environment where each child's individual development is given thoughtful attention.
Extended Day
Report
The Extended Day Program, available from 1-3:30 pm daily, and Late Day, available from 3:30-5:30 pm daily, provides a small, mixed-age setting for a guided exploration of a specific activity daily. Led by two teachers each day, the children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of projects planned just for them.
Summer Program
Report
Our Summer Program, available to all families currently enrolled at Spruce Street, offers a fun combination of outdoor and indoor activities. Summer at Spruce provides opportunities for your child to spend time with friends new and old, as well as with many Spruce teachers. During the Summer Program, your child will enjoy daily excursions to local parks and pools such as the Frog Pond Splash Pool and the Tadpole Playground.

Spruce Street Nursery School serves children ages 2-5 and is located in the heart of downtown Boston. At Spruce we recognize that children learn about the world through active exploration and play. Teachers here develop curriculum to honor and explore each child's potential. Classrooms are designed to offer many opportunities for a child to learn at his or her own pace.
