The Reiki Center of Greater Washington offers training classes and workshops in a number of energy modalities, including Usui Reiki, Gendai Reiki, Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki, Karuna Reiki (R), Lightarian (R), Integrated Energy Therapy (R), and Shamanic Healing and Journeying using Crystals. We see clients at our home office in Rockville, Maryland. Please note that the home office is 10 steps below ground level with two steps up at the entrance. The session begins with a discussion of a bit of the life history of the client. This assists the practitioner in determining the direction the healing session may take.
Answer: During a Reiki session, the client lies on a massage table fully-clothed, usually starting on the back and then turning over on the stomach. The practitioner places his hands lightly on the body, or just above, usually starting at the head and working down towards the feet. The client is encouraged to relax and often feels a sense of flowing heat, coolness, or tingling.
