Welcome to Chappaqua Friends Nursery School where imagination, learning and friendships take flight. Friends is a community where relationships flourish. We moved our program outdoors in response to the pandemic, with four beautiful outdoor spaces - our playscape with a new mud kitchen feature, our outdoor classroom (a big tent!) in a large, grassy meadow next to the Pollinator Pathway native plants garden, our outdoor maker space under a tent in the meadow, and our story time area nestled under the pine trees in our enchanted forest on the edge of the meadow.

In our name, the word Friends has two important meanings: It means friendship, building relationships, being a good friend. And it means Friends education and being part of a community greater than ourselves as a Friends school. Chappaqua Friends Nursery School is under the care of the Chappaqua Monthly Meeting.

Curriculum

At Chappaqua Friends Nursery School, every child's growth is recognized as unique, and children develop their own special style at their own pace. We do not look for a standard set of skills to be mastered by a certain age. Rather, we look to nourish and enhance each child's own complex set of interests, strengths and gifts through our mindful and deliberate curriculum.
Classes
Report
We offer early childhood classes for children ages 2 through 5. Our classes are designed to expand a child's understanding of the world and of themselves in an environment where they feel safe: safe to be both who they are and who they can become. The children are at the center of all our classes, our curriculum and our philosophy.

STEP 1: We recommend you visit before you apply. Your visit gives us an opportunity to learn more about your child and your family's interests and needs when it comes to an early childhood program. It also gives you and your child an opportunity to discover what Chappaqua Friends Nursery School is all about.
