An Ocean City Destination since 1977, The Hobbit Resaurant's original location was a cozy white beach house on 82nd Street and Coastal Highway. The ninety seat restaurant, with lace tablecloths, separate dining rooms and a relaxed lounge and bar quickly became a favorite of locals and Ocean City visitors alike.

Ketel One Peach Botanical Vodka, fresh mint, Limoncino liqueur, fresh lemon juice and simple syrup. Great for the warm summer evenings. An OC twist on the Moscow Mule, Ciroc Red Berry vodka, Barritts ginger beer, and lime juice. You can't order just one. Bacardi Coconut rum, white rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, splash of grenadine, finished with a Bacardi 4yr Anejo rum floater.

Our bar offers the same great views and a special menu filled with some unique lighter fare. Crispy fried boneless chicken thigh pieces tossed in a sweet sesame chili sauce, sriracha slaw, house made ginger pickles. One of our all fresh jumbo lump crabcakes on a freshly baked brioche bun from Crack of Dawn Bakery (Berlin, MD).

Yes, we accept reservations via online (click the reservation tab above) or by phone and they are strongly recommended. The owner put the names of a few books in a hat which he had read while in high school and college then pulled out "The Hobbit". Yes, it is still a family run business under the same ownership since its opening in 1977.

We have been going to the Hobbit each summer for about 10 years. I think it is the best restaurant in Ocean City, MD. View is great, atmosphere and interior design is relaxing and elegant, service is right on, and cuisine is excellent. I particularly enjoy the Veal Pistachio. No matter where you sit, you pretty much get a view of the serene waters outside (obviously, bonus points if you book your res for sunset).
