Lewiston Auburn Youth Soccer (LAYSA) will be sponsoring its 43rd Fall soccer season for children in Lewiston, Auburn, and the surrounding areas. There are two types of teams; "house teams" (ages 4-11) that play other LAYSA teams on Saturdays (Mites & Micros ages 4-7) and Sundays (Juniors & Seniors, ages 8-11) and "travel teams" (ages 9-13) that play teams from other towns in Central Maine on Saturdays and Sundays.
There are no tryouts for our house league. Additional information on our house league programs can be found on the Recreational league page of our website. There are tryouts scheduled for our travel teams. Tryout details and additional information on LAYSA travel soccer can be found on the Travel page of our website.

Fall Recreational League
Report
LAYSA's recreational soccer program offers children an opportunity to play soccer regardless of their skill level or ability! There are no standings or playoffs in the house league. Your "soccer" age is your age on 7/31/2021. Children participate in fun-filled, hour long soccer clinics on Saturday mornings for six weeks.
Fall Travel League
Report
LAYSA sponsors teams that travel in the fall. The purpose of this program is to provide a higher level of competition and increased opportunities to play soccer. Travel teams typically practice twice each week and play games on Saturdays and Sundays throughout Central Maine. Travel soccer requires a higher level of commitment.
Coach’s Section
Report
Volunteer coaches are the backbone of the LAYSA organization. LAYSA provides coach training, manuals and everything you need to become a successful volunteer soccer coach. Challenger Teamwear, our uniform provider, has an excellent soccer coaching resource called The Challenger Way. It is a great resource for drills and practice plans for every age group.
Referees
Report
LAYSA is always looking for youth soccer referees for our house and travel soccer programs. In order to referee, you need to take and pass a referee course put on by the state organization. You must be at least 14 in order to take the course. Go to courses then 2021 Grassroots Recert #9. This recertification class will be done by zoom and will feature the new rules for 2021 and a review of last year's rules.
