Alternative Tutoring is a tutoring agency based on the South Shore of Long Island. We have over 30 years of experience with at-risk students, students with disabilities and students on the Autism spectrum on both the North and South Shores of Long Island. Alternative Tutoring only employs New York State Certified teachers servicing grades K-12.

Alternative Tutoring's staff is dedicated to providing all of our students with the tools to succeed. We are professionals who specialize in, but not limited to, working with at-risk students, NYS Regents Prep, GED/TASC Prep, SAT Prep. We personally meet and interview all of our on staff teachers to better understand their teaching styles.

Primarily, we provide itinerant services to school districts in South Shore Nassau County. Therefore, traveling is a part of the job. Teachers are not paid for travel time. Typically, a student gets 2 hours of tutoring per week for each subject. Teachers are not obligated to take any position offered and are employed on an "on call" or "as needed basis."
