Who are we? We is me: a certified yoga instructor, workshop leader, and Reiki practitioner from New York. Before I studied yoga, I worked for decades as an editor in publishing and advertising. Words met body and mind, they discovered that they liked each other, and YogaBright is the result. The Yoga Classes page lists my current classes.

I teach primarily in lower Westchester, including Yonkers, Tuckahoe, Eastchester, Scarsdale, and Mount Vernon; private sessions are also available. Yoga class for seniors, or a challenging asana class, my goal is to help students learn to practice yoga efficiently, safely, and happily. Yoga offers a pathway to improved health, confidence, and well-being.

A recipe for success: Mixing mocktails helped this health-conscious yogi revitalize her energy while making a major life change by Reyna Gonzalez As a child, I loved watching old black-and-white movies, and one of my favorite stars was Shirley Temple. Like many others, I was drawn to her charismatic presence onscreen and wowed by her.

As a yoga enthusiast and instructor, I often tell students about the ways that yoga practice can help improve health and well-being. When practiced safely and with dedication, a yoga practice can be a powerful tool for both calming the mind and strengthening and healing the body. Through scientific study, health and medical experts across various disciplines have explored and demonstrated the benefits that yoga can offer.
Pranayama
Report
When I began practicing yoga, I felt intimidated by the breathing instructions offered by my teacher. Not because her instructions weren't clear, but because I was worried that I wasn't breathing the "right" way. Then I learned that pranayama-an integral aspect of yoga practice-is not about "breathing right."

Now, more than five months after the statewide New York lockdown was initiated, here we stand. Slowly, painstakingly, we are reclaiming our lives. We work if we can, shop when we need to, and worship via Zoom. Students took winter, spring, and now summer classes on line. And the American heroes-our healthcare workers, essential workers, and first responders-continue to support us and save lives.
