Academics are applied, refined and extended in project-based, collaborative learning experiences in all programs. Students learn to thrive in Nature extending what they have learned to school, home and the community. In the Spirit of our Vision and Mission, we are expanding to involve the greater community.

We are launching more of our deeply connected experiences. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for special events and activities. Outdoor Education & Friluftsliv, Mindful Horsemanship, Child-Centered Skiing, Way of the Wild: Frontier Skills and our Nature-based, Montessori approach to education are integral parts of the Another Way Teacher Training program, Parent Education, and Teen Mentoring.

About Us
Report
The Native Philosophy "WE ARE ALL RELATED" is honored. This is the philosophy that guides all of our interactions and activities. We greet and bless the day. We honor the plants and animals that provide the nourishing food we eat. We respect ourselves and our brothers in all that we say and do. And, we honor and respect the animals and plants with whom we work and learn.
Mission, Vision, Values
Report
To provide a community inspired by Nature that provides out-of-the ordinary experiences that foster the awakening of the mind, and maximize the child's development - emotionally, physically, cognitively, and socially in service to the highest good of all life. Working collaboratively within a multigenerational, integrated and nurturing community, Another Way provides Nature-based experiences to awaken the mind to the kinship of all life.
Facility
Report
The facility embodies our philosophy and goals: a spacious log cabin and log studio in a rustic setting roots modern instruction into early American cultures. Our prepared environment is designed to meet the child's developmental needs while facilitating learning through direct interaction in a nurturing and safe atmosphere.
Accreditation
Report
Another Way is certified as a Montessori Educational Programs International (MEPI) approved intern site for teacher training. Montessori Educational Programs International (MEPI) was founded in 1995 by a group of 8 representatives of teacher education programs interested in promoting peace through authentic Montessori education and practice.
2021 Academics
Report
Children must move to learn effectively! We offer a spiraling curriculum, or one in which students work from "the big picture" (sense of gestalt) toward an increasing level of detail. Skills and concepts are reintroduced to them at increasing levels of complexity and abstraction over time.

Along with the Montessori approach, we use compatible curriculum and programmatic elements of additional approaches and materials from the non-Montessori educational community that have been carefully researched to provide opportunities for enrichment beyond basic curriculum.Another Way, a private non-profit educational center provides individualized pacing and adaptation of the classroom programs to meet any style of learning.
