Test scores consistently exceed traditional school benchmarks, and graduates demonstrate strong academic foundations. We serve Pre-K through 12th Grade in Salt Lake City, maintaining a respectful, character-driven environment where students thrive. Our founders, with extensive experience in prestigious private schools and homeschooling, continue to shape our educational philosophy. Services
Classical Curriculum
Our classical curriculum follows traditional methods outlined in the Hillsdale Academy Reference Guide. Students study Saxon Math daily, along with history through literature, science, grammar, geography, and penmanship. K-3 students receive daily phonics instruction, while grades 4-8 study Latin. This approach builds strong academic foundations while fostering intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills.
Individualized Instruction
We provide ability-based instruction tailored to each student's needs. Multi-age classrooms allow struggling learners to reach grade level while enabling advanced students to progress quickly. Teachers use small class sizes to deliver personalized attention, adjusting pacing and methodology to match individual learning styles and maturity levels rather than chronological age.
Flexible Scheduling
Our four-hour school day (8 a.m.12 p.m.) maintains academic rigor while providing families more balanced schedules. Students complete core instruction during morning hours, then have afternoons for extracurricular activities, family time, or additional homework support. Kindergarten students attend three days weekly while receiving full curriculum benefits.
Character Development
We emphasize character formation through daily recitations of historical documents, pledge of allegiance, and prayer. Multi-age interactions foster peer mentoring and mutual respect. The school environment promotes virtues like integrity, equality, and simplicity, creating a respectful atmosphere where students develop strong ethical foundations alongside academic skills.
Community Support
Active parent participation sustains our affordable tuition model through volunteer work and fundraising initiatives. The Scrip program allows families to support the school through everyday purchases. Additional support comes from AmazonSmile donations, Box Tops for Education, and local business partnerships that help maintain financial accessibility for diverse income levels.

I am so glad my granddaughter attends Capitol Hill Academy. She had learned more in 1st grade than many 6th grade and higher public school children! The price is well worth it
